With Cicci at Rovilan

Raspberry Walk

Rasberry Walk at Rovilan

Visit to a local raspberry garden - If the seasonality is good from July to September there is the opportunity to pick for those who want to. Cicc will tell you about the farm and about those who were before us and a little about the village!

Learn about how we decided which kinds of raspberries were chosen, in our arctic climate - and how it is managed to provide good harvests. Learn about the use of natural fertiliser from horse owners in the village - and lots of lawn clippings from the neighbour as cover material. No artificial fertiliser is used. Raspberries can be supplemented with other bushes that fit our climate. And the garden should be filled with perennial edible vegetables. The farm's chickens and rooster contribute both eggs and manure. To support pollination and benefit the growing diversity, Bee hives will also come in place, by the summer of 2026. The goal of becoming self -sufficient in different types of berries and also some sales, mainly raspberries. Vegetables - potatoes and more should be grown with surplus for sale - then mainly to the local market.

End the visit with coffee in the gazebo - Rovilan's creamy berry and raspberry cake. Coffee Tea.
