Smedja Brinna

Silver & Serenity

Beyond the roaring fires, flying sparks, and the rhythmic sound of hammers striking iron, there is another side to Smedja Brinna — one that is quiet, personal, and deeply rooted in the traditions of northern Sweden.

With “Silver & Serenity”, Arctic Retreat invites you into the peaceful countryside home of local artisans Adam and Emi, beautifully situated beside the tranquil waters of Lake Vitträsket in the village of Sörbyn. Here, surrounded by forests, nature, and timeless calm, you will discover the ancient craft of silversmithing — a tradition with deep cultural significance across the north of Sweden and Sámi heritage.

Inside the charming upstairs kitchen from the 1940s, now transformed into an intimate silversmith studio, you will learn the basics of traditional silver craftsmanship and create your own simple yet elegant piece of jewellery to take home as a personal memory of the Arctic.

The experience is not only about craftsmanship, but also about slowing down and stepping into a genuine local way of life. As you work with silver, Adam and Emi will share stories, traditions, and insights into life in the north, offering a warm and personal glimpse into Arctic culture and hospitality.

During your visit, you will also enjoy a traditional Swedish fika or a homemade lunch, carefully prepared and served in the relaxed atmosphere of their home. “Silver & Serenity” is a peaceful and authentic experience where creativity, history, and northern hospitality come together in a truly memorable setting.
